Description

This intermediate level class is about investing money. If students hope for a CNBC/Wall Street majority view lecture, their expectations will not be met. (For that approach, see Robert Shiller's 2001 book, Irrational Exuberance.) This class will be a minority view offering, related to the current state of markets, concepts, and macro-economic issues. The class will focus on suggestions in the areas of equities, fixed income, and commodities, including precious metals. “The market, like the Lord, helps those who help themselves. But, unlike the Lord, the market does not forgive those who know not what they do.” Warren Buffet, CEO, Berkshire Hathaway Corp. Workshop Objectives: If professionals are going to assist their clients, their firms, and themselves with Wall Street investing, they must understand 1. Major macro-economics issues affecting markets today, and 2. proper Asset Allocation."
