This classroom will include the following 4 courses:

The Trustworthy Leader:  Ethics and Trust

February 2, 2018    9 am Central Time

Trustworthiness and a commitment to ethical behavior are two sides of the same coin! We do not trust people who behave unethically and we must be significantly more cautious in dealing with people whom we do not trust. Research shows infusing authentic trust throughout an organization's culture has enormous payback potential in all aspects of doing business. People will do nearly anything for leaders they trust and resist or sabotage leaders they consider untrustworthy. Unfortunately, many business leaders simply assume people trust them when actually they do not. Others think authority and power substitute for trust or they sincerely believe people should conduct business on a “trust no one" basis. How do leaders gain and lose real trust? This session addresses the most important concepts and tips for building and maintaining trust and integrity in business culture and practices. This course was re-recorded and updated on 1/16/15.

Generations at Work:  Finding Common Ground

February 9, 2018    9 am Central Time

The dynamics of today’s workforce are changing.  Gone are the days when managers spent years working their way up the company’s ladder.  Because of the relatively small population of Generation X-ers, leadership is transitioning a growing number of management positions from Baby Boomers to Millenials.  The effect is a greater age difference between colleagues.  This seminar explores the differences between the generations who make up the current workforce and the implications, both positive and negative, of the gap.  We will explain why finding common ground is crucial to survival and how to accomplish this.  Receive practical tips and tricks to manage multiple generations in our work places.

Teamwork:  Create a Cohesive Team

February 16, 2018    9 am Central Time

Why do some teams produce and win, while other teams fail? What do the leaders of great teams do that make the team a success? Whether you run the executive staff of a multinational company, a small department within a large organization or even if you are a team member in a team that needs improvement, we will share proven techniques to enhance teamwork. It is not complicated to build a team, but it is difficult. Teamwork is the ultimate competitive advantage both because it is so powerful and rare. “If you could get all the people in the organization pulling in the same direction, you could dominate any industry, in any market, against any competition, at any time,” Patrick Lencioni, author of the book, The Five Dysfunctions of a Team. This seminar is based on the research from this book, which is used in most business schools today.

Communicating Financial Information to Non-Accountants

February 23, 2018    9 am Central Time
